SAFIYAH TASNEEM : Tuesday Takeover: Yasmine Alom

[ad_1]

This weeks Tuesday Takeover is from the absolutely amazing Yasmine Alom who I am in awe of because of how hard working she is!
If you guys saw my YouTube mum friendly GRWM with Yasmine, you’ll know she’s very experienced and knowledgeable with makeup products and someone I trust to review, so here are her thoughts on the new Bobbi Brown Camo Luxe Collection:

The new collection by Bobbi Brown Camo Luxe collection launched on September 2018. This is exclusive to Selfridges & Brown Thomas from 23rd August then launches nationwide on 6th September.

Perfect and just in time for fall. There is a camouflage vibe to the collection showcasing nice earthy tones. They have rich hues with a metallic infusion. The collection consists of 2 nail polishes, a gel liner, 3 lipsticks, an eye shadow/cheek palette, 2 multi chrome eye shadows and a mascara.

I have been fortunate enough to guest blog for Safiyah to review some of the items from the collection.

Let’s start off with the moss green gel liner.

This is their award winning gel liner which is available in 12 shades. To fall in line with the collection they have added Cypress Ink, which is a deep emerald mossy green. The formula lasts up to 12 hours. It is very easy to blend and you are able to create a smooth wing liner. Or as I like to use gel liner (other than black) is for an eye base when applying similar eye shadows. This helps for my shadows to last even longer and not move. It also helps to really amplify the shadows.

Retailing for £20.00.

Next I have the limited edition Camo Luxe Eye & Cheek palette.

Retailing for £49.50. This compact has consists of 4 matte and 2 metallic and sparkle shadows, plus a light-reflective highlighting powder to instantly illuminate skin—all in one versatile palette.

Shades in Palette:

 Matte Eye Shadow in Bone

 Matte Eye Shadow in Wheat

 Matte Eye Shadow in Cool Grey

 Metal Eye Shadow in Smokey Brown

 Sparkle Eye Shadow in Camo

 Matte Eye Shadow in Cool Brown

 Highlighting Powder in Warm Glow

The mattes are very velvet to touch and picks up a lot of pigmentation. As it feels creamy it is also very easy to blend. It doesn’t really take much effort. The colours are a little on the cooler side but very wearable. The metallics as you can see are very high shine and reflects golden shimmers. These glide on like silk. You do need a lot to layer them and simply finish off a beautiful look. You are able to wear the colours during the day due to the earthy neutral shades and then amp up the volume with the shimmers.

The weight of the palette is heavy as well which adds to the luxury premium quality. The highlighter in the palette may be too dark for some skin tones. However when mixed in with a bronzer or used as a bronzer, this can give such warm sunset glow to the face. On deeper skin tones when used with a setting spray and concentrated on the highest points of the face, well no need for a ring light. This will definitely highlight your face! The colour is very intense and you can also be versatile and use it as an eye shadow.

The colours you see in the palette are true to its colour. With a nice size mirror also available in the palette this makes it a very versatile and usable compact to have around you. Perfect for day and night, neutral to dramatic.

A lot of thought has gone into the collection and i would say it will appeal to makeup wearers of all ages. For the price you pay it may seem pricey considering you are paying for 6 shadows and 1 highlighter, compared to the competitors. Let me ask you this question, when purchasing the other palettes with 12-18 shadows, how many do you actually wear? Whereas this palette is more specific and it doesn’t confuse you with many colours or looks daunting. The makeup lover who buys this collection is someone who is

confident, enjoys the earthy glam, confident and strong who isn’t easily persuaded with choices. She knows what she wants and quality is one of them!

What do you think? Will you be buying this palette? Make sure to follow me
